PCB seals over million dollar sponsorship deal for UAE series

PCB seals over million dollar sponsorship deal for UAE seriesIslamabad, Apr. 13: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has managed to bag a sponsorship of over a million dollars for the UAE one-day international series.

"At the time when everyone thought we would not be able to finalise a sponsorship deal worth 200,000 dollars, the PCB has succeeded to strike a deal of over one million dollars. That does not include the money we would get from the TV rights," PCB's chief financial advisor, Mohammad Naeem, said.

A Dubai based Construction Company Chapal Brothers has been given the title sponsorship, while Bank Alfalah and a telecom company Mobilink are the two co-sponsors for the five match series, Naeem informed.

The board is expecting to earn a huge sum from the in stadia rights, The News reports.

It will also receive fifty percent of all gate money collected during the series.

The PCB is expecting to earn handsome amount from the UAE series to ingest some money into its depleting bank account. However, Naeem said organizing matches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi was four times costlier than hosting matches in any Pakistani city.

"There is no doubt that cost of organising the event will also be very high. Everything except petrol costs 4-6 times in UAE in rupee terms as compared to Pakistan," he added. (ANI)
