Saleh "withdrew from the closed-door session and the concluding session of 21st Arab summit in Doha in protest after he was not given the opportunity to read out the Yemeni vision on activating the joint Arab action and the establishment of an Arab Union," Saba reported.

Yemen dismantled Israeli-linked terrorist cell: President Sana'a, Yemen - Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh said on Monday that Yemeni police have dismantled a "terrorist cell linked to the Israeli intelligence services."

"Members of a terrorist cell were arrested five days ago, and will be put on trial for links with the Israeli intelligence services," Saleh said in speech in the south-eastern province of Hadhramout.

Quoted by the official Saba news agency, Saleh said, however, the cell was operating under the "slogan of Islam."

Yemeni president vows to pursue planners of US embassy attack

Houdieda, Yemen -Yemen President Ali Abdullah Saleh Yemen will pursue and bring to justice those responsible for the terrorist attack on the US embassy, President Ali Abdullah Saleh said late Thursday.

In a speech at the Red Sea port city of Houdieda, Saleh said the attack "did not target the US embassy, but rather the Yemeni nation."

"The nation is being targeted by terrorism. I promise you, I promise all the sons of this nation, that we will pursue them in their villages and districts until they are captured and brought to justice," he said.

Ali Abdullah Saleh: Dismantled terror cell had planned attacks in Saudi Arabia

Sana'a, Yemen - Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh said in remarks published Wednesday that an al-Qaeda cell dismantled by security forces in south-eastern Yemen had plotted terrorist attacks in his country and its oil-rich neighbour Saudi Arabia.

Saleh was quoted by state newspapers as saying Yemeni police had seized documents containing "dangerous information unveiling a plan by the al-Qaeda organization to carry out terrorist acts in Yemen and Saudi Arabia."

He reportedly made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz late on Tuesday.

Yemeni president warns of new crackdown on Shiite rebels

Ali Abdullah SalehSana'a, Yemen- Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh said on Wednesday that Shiite rebels in the restive province of Saada should respect the ceasefire reached with the army earlier this month or they would face a new military campaign.

"The war in Saada has ended, and we hope that group would abide by the ceasefire and leave mountains," Saleh said in a speech during a ceremony for university graduates in Sanaa.

"Otherwise, we have a new way (to deal with them), not like the ways we used to apply in the past weeks and months," Saleh said, without giving further details.
