Writer-director Anees Bazmee was the last director, the late Feroz Khan worked under. The film was the super duper hit of 2007, Welcome which clashed with Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par at the box office. Feroz Khan’s relatively small but significant character in Welcome, funnily titled RDX was very popular. His dialogue – Abhi Hum Zinda Hain was greeted with roaring laughter whenever he spoke it on screen in the film.
New Delhi - Bollywood actor-filmmaker Feroz Khan, once known as the "Clint Eastwood of the East' for his macho style and swagger, died Monday after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 69. Khan died at 1:30 am (2000 GMT Sunday) at his farmhouse in the southern city of Bangalore.
His funeral was scheduled to take place in the city later on Monday, his family said.
After battling with cancer for a year, veteran actor, producer and director Feroz Khan met with death on Monday night at 1.30 at his farm house located in his home town Bangalore. His family said that his funeral is due to take place in Bangalore later today. Making his debut with Didi in 1960, Feroz Khan has given some major hits like Qurbani, Yalgaar and Jaanbaaz.
His performance in film Dharmatma was also highly appreciated. Some of his other hit films include Teesra Kaun and Dayavan. His last flick was 2007 released Welcome. The stylish actor has also been honoured with many prestigious award in his long successful career in Bollywood.
