London, Jan. 8 : Ex-England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen has arrived back home following a winter holiday in South Africa.

Greeted by photographers and reporters, Pietersen refused to make a comment on the current crisis in England cricket, and was escorted to a waiting car by police.

Pietersen quit as England skipper after only five months on Wednesday in the wake of his rift with coach Peter Moores - who was sacked.

London, Jan 8 : Kevin Pietersen was forced into resigning as England Test and one-day captain after all rounder Andrew Flintoff and new skipper Andrew Strauss refused to back him and ECB's Managing Director Hugh Morris hinted at divisions in the team.

London, Jan. 7 : England’s cricket establishment was in complete disarray on Wednesday after both captain Kevin Pietersen and team coach Peter Moores declared that they were quitting their respective posts as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has failed to resolve their differences.

Sky News quoted Pietersen as saying that: "I am not in a fit state to talk."

Moores'' decision to resign came as he faced growing criticism over the row and the development of the England team during his time as coach. The team has lost four of the seven series that it has contested under his stewardship.
