Vice President Ansari to leave for 3-day visit to Kuwait New Delhi, Apr 2 : Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari is leaving on a three-day visit to Kuwait on Saturday.

Strengthening cooperation in the energy sector will be focus of his discussions with Kuwaiti leaders.

Ansari will hold talks with the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al Jaber Al Sabah on a wide range of issues. Welfare of Indian community in Kuwait and fostering greater encomic partnership will figure prominently in the talks.

Ansari inaugurates ‘Map World Forum’ in Hyderabad

He noted that the instruments for accessing geo-spatial information have become much simpler.

"It is indeed a privilege for me to inaugurate the Map World Forum today. Let me acknowledge that I was impressed with the vision of the Forum of aiming "beyond speeches and discussions to find practical ways to improve people's lives," Ansari said.

Vice President visits Bahadur Shah Zafar’s mausoleum in Myanmar

Yangon (Myanmar), Feb. 8 : Vice President M. Hamid Ansari paid a visit to the mausoleum of former Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar here on Saturday.

Acknowledging Zafar's contribution to India''s first war of independence in 1857, Ansari said: "Bahudar Shah Zafar occupies a place in our history and played a prominent role in the First War of Independence in 1857 and every citizen in the country (India) knows about it. It is a matter of great regret that he had to spend the last days of his life away from his own country."

Ansari is on a four-day official visit to Myanmar.

Vice President Ansari arrives in Myanmar to strengthen bilateral ties

New Delhi, Feb. 5 : Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari arrived in Nay Pyi Taw, capital of Myanmar, on a four-day visit along with a high-level delegation comprising parliamentarians and a business delegation.

Ansari was given a warm reception at the Nay Pyi Taw Airport and inspected a guard of honour by the Myamar Army.

The Vice Premier General of Myanmar, Maung Aye, and External Affairs Minister U Nayan received the Indian delegation.

The high-level business delegation accompanying Ansari comprises officials of the Steel Authority of India Ltd., TATA Motors, Gas Authority of India Ltd., Bharat Heavy Electric Limited among others. 

TATA Motors is setting up a truck-manufacturing unit in Myanmar.
