  Pre-conditions on talks with Pakistan dangerous: Mufti Sayeed  Srinagar, Apr 18 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Saturday termed pre-conditions for talks with Pakistan `dangerous'.

"The pre-conditions set by India that peace process would not be resumed till Pakistan hands over the Mumbai attack accused is dangerous for peace in the South Asia," Mufti told reporters here.

Mufti advocates revocation of AFSPA in J-K

Jammu, Mar 1: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed demanded the revocation of the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act
(AFSPA) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Sayeed said, "Now time has come when there is peace, when there is decline in militancy, this Special Power Act should be revoked and there should be reduction of army troops."

Earlier, State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that his government is considering a proposal to revoke AFSPA in the state.

The AFSPA gives sweeping powers to security forces to carry out operations in disturbed areas. It was promulgated in Jammu and Kashmir in July 1990.

PDP propagating pro-people agenda for lasting peace in subcontinent: MuftiJammu, Mar. 1 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and patron of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammed Sayeed said on Saturday that his party has pioneered a political and economic agenda to establish sustainable peace in the subcontinent and to fulfill the wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State.

He claimed that it was during the regime of PDP-led coalition that equal treatment was given to all regions and sub-regions of the State.

PDP will be a responsible opposition, says Mufti Mohammad Sayeed

Mufti Mohammad SayeedSrinagar, Jan. 2 : Accepting people's mandate in the recently concluded elections, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, chief of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that his party would play the role of a responsible opposition in the state.

"I assure the people that the PDP will fortify the mandate and safeguard their aspiration as a responsible opposition party," said Sayeed said.

He also said that the UPA government should not misconstrue large voter turnout as a solution of the Kashmir issue and demanded renewal of the resolve of the Kashmir resolution process.

Mufti exudes confidence of returning to power

Kokernag (J-K), Dec 18 : Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir state and candidate of People''s Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has said that he is confident of returning to power in the State.

After forming the Government, he said he would get an anti-terror law passed, as the present law will not be applicable to Jammu and Kashmir.

Mufti expressed hopes to win the elections this time as their party''s performance and programmes had satisfied the expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
