Karachi, Apr. 15 : Sindh High Court has issued notices to former Pakistan President General (r) Pervez Musharraf and former Attorney General Malik Qayyum for alleged "abrogation and subversion of the Constitution."
Acting upon the petition filed by Moulvi Iqbal Haider, the SHC ordered Musharraf and Qayyum to respond by May 19, The Nation reports.
New Delhi, Apr. 12 (ANI): A distant relative of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf is also in the electoral fray from the Lucknow Parliamentary constituency.
President of the 75 year old women organization Bazm-e-Khawateen, Shehnaz Sidrat has filed her nomination from Lucknow, the political citadel of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Sidrat claims she belongs to the family of a famous Congress leader late Hayatullah Ansari.
According to her, Ansari's wife Sultana Hayat was a cousin of Musharraf's father Syed Musharrafuddin.
Beijing, Apr. 12 : Former Pakistan President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf has said that the US President Barack Obama's revamped AFPAK policy is incomplete without India, and a solution to the Kashmir issue.
Replying to queries following his lecture at the Shanghai Institute for International Studies here, Musharrraf said nothing was new in Obama's policy, and it was a continuation of US's older strategies for the region.
Lahore, Apr. 8 : Advocate Zahid Malik, whose petition seeking the trial of former President General Pervez Musharraf was thrown away by the Supreme Court, has filed the petition once again.
"I have re-filed the petition after removing all four objections that the SC Registrar Office had raised," The Daily Times quoted Malik, as saying.
Earlier, the Supreme Court Registrar Dr Faqir Hussain had returned the petition with four major objections.
