Lahore, Apr. 2 : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has charged former US President George W. Bush and his then Pakistan counterpart General Pervez Musharraf of promoting terrorism in the region.

Sharif said Bush's wrong policies for the region were aptly supported by Musharraf which has resulted in the present day scenario where Pakistan is facing dangerous threat from rising extremism.

Islamabad, Apr. 1 : The Pakistan Supreme Court has thrown away a sedition petition filed against former President General Pervez Musharraf.

The petition filed by one Zahid Hussain Malik was returned back by the court saying that it was neither the proper forum for the case nor the petitioner was an affected party in it, The News reported.

Advocate on record's affidavit was also not attached with the petition which particularly irked the court.

Lahore, Mar. 30 : Indicating the frequent US interference in Pakistan, former Pakistan President General (r) Pervez Musharraf has said that no outsider had any right to cross the border into Pakistan, and serious notice must be taken of any such actions.

Islamabad, Mar. 30 : Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said that the State carried out the Lal Mosque operation.

In July 2007, around Lal Masjid area of Islamabad, a confrontation between Islamic militants and Pakistan Government broke out.

"Only 93 people were killed in the operation," The News quoted Musharraf, as saying.

Speaking to reporters before leaving for China here, he said: "Pakistan is facing a grave threat of extremism and terrorism."

Lahore, Mar 29 : A petition has been moved in the Lahore Registry of the Pakistan Supreme Court to put former President Pervez Musharraf's name on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Advocate Akmal Saleemi filed the application in an already pending constitutional petition, seeking action against Musharraf and others for killing of innocent students in a military operation launched against the Lal Masjid.

Karachi, Mar. 27 : While a volley of treason cases are being filed in Pakistan against the former President General Pervez Musharraf, legal experts in the country believe that the autocratic ruler may never be tested.

Legal experts have termed the idea of initiating sedition cases against Musharraf as `wishful' thinking.
