London, Apr 10 : Manchester United's wage bill has increased to a whopping sum of 121million pounds in 2008, an increase of 29 million pounds.

The 30 per cent rise comes after improved deals for ace players Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.

United's Premier League and Champions League Double last season saw them splash 13.3 million pounds in bonuses, compared to 8.6 million pounds the previous year.

London, Apr 9 : Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is a major injury doubt for coach Sir Alex Ferguson as he bids to stop his club's season going down the pan.

Rooney was hit hard on the ribs by the ball at the end of the first half of the Red Devils' 2-2 Champions League quarterfinal first leg at home to Porto on Tuesday night.

He bravely played on, but was clearly in some discomfort as he left the ground after the game, The Sun reported.

London, April 8 : Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s unborn baby is already worth 5 million pounds, it has emerged.

Coleen, who tied the knot with the Manchester United striker in June last year, recently confirmed that she was pregnant and that the pair’s first baby was due in October.

“We feel incredibly lucky and happy,” the Daily Star quoted the 23-year-old as saying.

The striker, 23, has admitted that he looks up to his pals Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, who have remained with the club for nearly two decades.

The former Everton ace told Inside United: "I've always said that as long as United want me I'm happy to stay at the club. I don't want to leave. I love United and I have no reason to think about moving. I'm sure I'll be here for a long time."
