Police Officer killed with Illegal Gun stolen from Georgia

Police officer Brian Moore was gunned down in Queens Village. He was killed from an illegal weapon that was stolen around three-and-a-half years earlier from a pawnshop in a small town around 1,000 miles away.

"Once again, a police officer has been killed with an illegal gun from Georgia - a state that last year did the NRA's bidding and weakened its already lax gun laws", stated the group Everytown for Gun Safety.

Using a crowbar, the bandits entered into Little's Bait & Tackle Pawn Shop in October 2011 and fled with 23 weapons. Nine have turned up in New York City. Clarence Little, whose Perry, Ga., store, was the bandit's target, was quite upset to know the hooting has taken place from the gun stolen from his ship, but was surprised.

The stolen weapons get a good price there, stated owner of Little's Bait & Tackle Pawn Shop. One of the stolen weapons was the .38-caliber Taurus five-shot revolver that were used to shoot More, 25, in the face.

Out of nine, eight weapons stolen from the shop that entered into north of the city were recovered by the police. Two have been seized; five were recovered during NYPD investigations and eighth was found on February 8, 2012, during the arrest of a suspect.

Georgia has relaxed gun laws that critics consider as the reason for the steady northern flow of illegal weapons to New York. There are no background checks for people buying guns. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms stats unveiled that 331 weapons were recovered in New York State but actually were from Georgia.

Perry Police Chief Stephen Lynn said that those who stole guns from the store were aware what they were after.
