Mayawati says a ‘dalit’s daughter’ should be made next PMRamaipur, Apr 25: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Saturday said a `dalit's daughter' should be made the Prime Minister of the country.

Mayawati further said a dalit Prime Minister would ensure the upliftment of the backward and minority communities in the country.

"If you make a dalit''s daughter the Prime Minister, then UP will be famous in the entire world. If the BSP comes to power at the Centre, UP will occupy a special place," Mayawati said at an election rally here.

Congress slams Mayawati for misusing Central funds

MayawatiLucknow, Apr 25 : Uttar Pradesh Congress unit chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi on Saturday slammed state Chief Minister Mayawati for not utilizing Central Government funds allotted for the development of the state properly.

“Mayawati-led Uttar Pradesh Government has misused the money allotted by the Central Government for the development of the State. The millions of rupees handed over to the state under the Jawaharlal Nehru City Development scheme were used to build statues. If Mayawati comes to power, she will turn around the look of the city,” Joshi said during a roadshow here.

"The BSP is contesting in almost every seats. The party did not make any electoral tie up with any party. Now, people can vote for the BSP candidates," Mayawati said while addressing an election rally here.

Addressing a rally in Basti of Uttar Pradesh, BSP president Mayawati blamed Congress leaders for wooing low-castes and poor with fake promises.

Without naming Congress party general secretary Rahul Gandhi, who had visited poor and downtrodden in the past, Mayawati said dining and sleeping with low-castes would not wipe out their poverty and unemployment.

Mayawati upset with EC over transfer of top state officer

MayawatiLucknow, Apr 8 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Wednesday criticised the Election Commission for its decision to transfer UP Principal Secretary of Home Kunwar Fateh Bahadur.

Accusing the commission of demoralizing officers of the state ahead of the first phase of elections, Mayawati said the decision may lead to problems in the law and order situation in the state.

Talking to reporters here, Mayawati said, "Removing of the officer just due to political reasons on basis of their baseless allegation will demoralize officers of the state due to which law and order problem could erupt in the state."

BSP releases list of 80 candidates for Uttar Pradesh

MayawatiLucknow, Mar 20 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati released a list of candidates for 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.

She also announced that the BSP’s nationwide campaign would start from Saturday.

“Tomorrow, I will start the BSP national campaign from Kerala with a rally in Thiruvananthapuram,” she told a press conference here.

The BSP Chief also released the party’s ‘special appeal’ to the electorate in Uttar Pradesh.

Mayawati said she would be campaigning non-stop across the country from Saturday till May11.
