Polling begins for by-polls in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh, May 22 : Polling began for the by-polls to three Assembly constituencies in Haryana and one in Punjab to decide the fate of 81 candidates including former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.

Tight security arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair poll.

Police personnel have been deployed in Adampur, Indri and Gohana in Haryana and Amritsar South constituency in Punjab.

The by-poll for the three seats in Haryana arose due to the disqualification of sitting MLAs from Adampur, Gohana and Indri.

The Amritsar South seat fell vacant due the death of sitting Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate Raminder Singh Bolaria.

The by-elections to Lok Sabha constituencies of Thane in Maharashtra is also underway today. (ANI)
