Premier of Federation Bosnia-Herzegovina charged for abuse of power

Premier of Federation Bosnia-Herzegovina charged for abuse of power Sarajevo - Prime Minister of Federation of Bosnia- Herzegovina Nedzad Brankovic was charged for abuse of power, the Court in Sarajevo said Friday.

Brankovic and former prime minister of the Muslim-Croat entity Edhem Bicakcic are charged with abusing their powers in order to buy Brakovic an apartment in Sarajevo in 2000.

The Federation government, led by Bicakcic, bought the apartment for around 135,000 euros (176,000 dollars). Brankovic later bought the apartment from the government for a bargain-basement price of around 23,000 euros.

Bosnia is divided into two entities - Serb Republic, dominated by the Serbs and Muslim-Croat Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina. (dpa)
