PricewaterhouseCoopers hired 2,300 people previous year
Global consultancy giant, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) has hired a total of 2,300 people during the year till June.
The total number of 2,300 includes 1,200 graduates and 100 school leavers, who are now associated with professional courses. The company has also recorded an increase in annual revenues to £ 2.6 billion till the month of June 2012. The company also reported a rise of 7 per cent in sales during the year.
The company expects growth in various areas including consulting, risk assurance (audit), forensic and actuarial businesses. The revenues from its traditional audit practice rose 6 per cent to £ 963 million during the period.
The company has worked for Insurance giant Aviva, transport giant Dubai World, Genel Energy and chemicals group Yule Catto. The company's consulting business comprising of sustainability and climate change services, recorded 13 per cent growth in sales to £ 438 million. Overall profits at the firm rose to £ 727 million from £656m a year ago.
Ian Powell, PwC's UK chairman and senior partner, said, "We delivered strong performance across all of our businesses over the past year in what remains a very challenging market."
