Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Thursday suspended her former Principal Revenue Secretary Balwinder Kumar for Rae Bareli land controversy.

Allegation against Kumar is that he allotted the land of 189 hectares for Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi's dream project the proposed rail coach factory without taking the approval of state cabinet.

Kumar declined to comment on the matter. Before his suspension he has already been shifted to member (judicial) of Board of Revenue.
