Hijab-clad women Olympians attempt to break away from Muslim stereotypesMelbourne, Aug 11 : The ongoing Olympic Games will see a large number of veiled female athletes from various Muslim nations competing for events like sprinting, rowing, taekwondo and archery.

Most of these athletes have got themselves specially tailored aerodynamic veils, which expose only their face and hands.

All these veiled athletes are determined to avoid offending devout Muslims back home, as well as showing skimpily dressed rivals there is nothing constricting about wearing "hijab".

Oz detectives join search for missing Yadav Munohur

Yadav-MunohurMelbourne, Aug 11 : Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit have been called in to help search for missing nine-year-old boy Yadav Munohur, who has been missing for last four days.

The search for Yadav will continue today along the Yarra River at Hawthorn where he was last seen. Searchers have failed to find any signs of him.

"We’re now into our fourth day and we’re very concerned,” a police spokeswoman said.

South Korean President Lee Myung Bak met visiting Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and welcomed the recommendation of a study group that a trade agreement would benefit to both countries' economic growth and trade expansion, the office said.

Adopted Indian boy missing after falling into Melbourne River

Yadav-MunohurMelbourne, Aug. 9 : An adopted Indian boy has been reported missing after falling into Melbourne’s Yarra River. A Herald Sun report said that Victoria Police are hoping that the missing nine-year-old Yadav Munohur is still alive after failing to find him in an extensive search of the Yarra River and its surrounds in Hawthorn.

Munohur has not been seen since he pleaded with his mother to be allowed to go and play in Kooyong Park Thursday evening.

When she refused, the grade 4 student ran from the family''s Hawthorn apartment, and has not been seen since.
