Indian Rose industry doing wellBangalore, Dec. 29 : While markets across the world are stated to be affected by the global slowdown, the Indian rose industry is doing good business even after Christmas.

With New Year and Valentines round the corner there is enthusiasm in the rose industry here. The cut flower industry of Bangalore city is reaping profits from the increasing export orders, owing to the weakening rupee against other currencies.

Exporters say that they are receiving orders from across the globe including Europe, Germany, France and Japan. Netherlands accounts for the maximum share of exports.

Bangalore IPL Team Is Not For Sale: MallyaVijay Mallya, the owner of the Bangalore Indian Premier League team dismissed information that the team was up for sale as the trading window for the second season opened on Monday.

Mallya said, “There has been some misinterpretation of a statement issued by my Bangalore office. The Bangalore IPL team is not for sale and neither do we seek to transfer a majority of our current players.”

Dr Kalam turns teacher to Karnataka MLAs

Bangalore, Dec 13 : Repeat whatever I say ok, yes sir repeated the pupils. " I will lead an honest life free from all corruption and will set an example for others to adopt a transparent way of life," said former President A P J Abdul Kalam while inaugurating an orientation camp for first-time legislators in Karnataka.

During a three day orientation camp organized by Karnataka Government and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), Dr. Kalam in his usual style prepared himself to teach these batches of MLAs and MLCs on good governance, constituency management and other critical issues concerning development.

Talking to media Dr. Kalam said that this orientation programmes was an important tool to promote development.
