ISRO to develop Sun mission ''Aditya'', says G. Madhavan Nair

ISRO Chairman G. Madhavan NairBangalore, Nov 10 : After the success of Chandrayaan -1, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has conceptually developed a Sun mission called ''Aditya''.

Talking to ANI here, ISRO Chairman G. Madhavan Nair, said the success of Chandrayaan -1 has boosted the confidence of ISRO scientists to look beyond the moon.

"Aditya has been approved and its operations would begin soon. Sun mission is very critical and one of its kind in the global space research," Nair added.

Free Treatment For Poor Diabetic Children Jnana Sanjeevani Medical Centre at Marenahalli in Bangalore will provide medical care and insulin injection to 100 children, from below poverty line families till they complete schooling, under a free diabetic treatment programme.

This programme is supported by Sarojini Damodaran Charitable Trust.

Dr Srikanta, diabetologist and member of the Trust, said that the Centre mainly caters to children with type-1 diabetes, in which insulin shots form their lifeline.

BSNL Launches Web Conferencing Service In BangalorePublic sector telecom operator BSNL has launched its Web Conferencing that would permit audio, video and image transfer facility to its broadband customers.

Police commissioner Shankar Bidari inaugurated the BSNL Web Conferencing service in Bangalore on Monday.

While explaining the salient features of Web Conferencing, BSNL Karnataka Principal General Manager Subendu Ghosh stated that audio, video and image transfer could be done simultaneously through this new facility.

Chandrayaan-I enters lunar orbit

Chandrayaan-I Bangalore, Nov 4 : Chandrayaan-1, India''s spacecraft mission to moon has entered the Lunar Transfer Trajectory after the fifth and final orbit raising manoeuvre was carried out on Tuesday morning

According to ISRO spokesperson S Satish, "Chandrayaan-1 has entered the lunar transfer trajectory and is heading to an apogee of 3,80,000 KM, expected to happen on Saturday evening, the time at which the lunar orbit insertion manoeuvres are planned to be carried out."

During this manoeuvre the spacecraft''s 440 Newton liquid engine was fired for 145 seconds.
