Indore library has rare volumes of Hindu scriptures in Arabic, Portugeese and Farsi

Indore, July 25 : Not many people may know that some Indian scriptures, which were originally written in Sanskrit or Pali languages, are available in various foreign languages besides English. A visit to a special library here reveals that and much more.

Aziz Indori''s private library, located in Khajrana area of Indore, boasts of several rare volumes and publications of Hindu epics such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata in Portuguese, Urdu, Arabic and Persian languages.

The eight decades old library has a huge collection of over 11,000 ancient books written in Hindi, Urdu, English and Persian.

It is claimed that these ancient epics may not be available elsewhere in these languages.

Curfew continues in Indore

Indore, July 5: Curfew continues in all the 27 police station areas of Indore, after it was imposed yesterday following violence that broke out over revocation of land transfer to Amarnath Shrine Board in Jammu.

However, there have been no reports of any untoward incidents since last evening.

Additional police forces have been deployed in sensitive areas to maintain law and order situation.

Four people, including two Muslim, were killed when Hindu groups clashed with them, forcing police to open fire and lob tear gas shells. According to an eyewitness, at least five people were injured after receiving bullets shots.
