Addressing the Senate, he cited intelligence reports claiming that a Mumbai like incident could be replicated in Karachi. He also said that the lives of Sharif brothers were under threat, the Dawn reports.

Islamabad, Mar 13 : Pakistan has vowed to resist any attempt to shift their Davis Cup tennis home tie against Philippines to a neutral venue or Manila over security concerns.

The Philippine Lawn Tennis Association reportedly made the request in a letter to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) citing the March 3 militant attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, as reason for shifting the venue.

Philippines is scheduled to play Pakistan in Asia Oceania Group II on July 10-12 in Lahore, The News reported.

Islamabad, Mar 13 : PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar has claimed that as per information about 200 criminals have been sent to Punjab with the target to assassinate the Sharif brothers on the whim of some high official of the PPP-led Government.

Speaking after the election of chairman and deputy chairman of the Senate, Dar criticised the government for arresting party leaders including Raja Zafarul Haq and Zafar Ali Shah, in violation of the statement of the Interior Advisor that no directive has been issued to arrest people.

Islamabad, Mar. 13: A total of 67 Pakistanis were held at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has told the National Assembly.

Qureshi informed that 62 of 67 detainees had been released due to Pakistan's constant efforts.

Following the 9/11 terror attacks, scores of Pakistanis were picked up by local law enforcement agencies and handed over to the US authorities, and 67 of them ended up at the Guantanamo Bay, The Dawn reports.
