Islamabad  - Authorities on Sunday found the bodies of 10 security personnel executed by Taliban militants in Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan, an official said.

Those killed were among 15 tribal militiamen who were abducted by rebels late Saturday in Mohmand tribal district, a safe haven of Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters.

"Locals found the bodies of 10 Khasadars (tribal militiamen) dumped around the mountains in Omar Banda and Ayesha Korona. All were shot dead," said Rasool Khan, a local administrator.

Islamabad, Mar 8 : Interpol Secretary General Ronald K Noble has said that links of seven different countries are found in the Mumbai terror attacks that killed more than 170 people.

"Interpol and Pakistan are cooperating with each other to investigate into the Mumbai terrorist attacks, links of the seven different countries are found during the investigation. We are trying to help expose the terrorists wherever they are hiding," The Nation quoted Noble, as saying.

Islamabad - A US pilotless drone aircraft was believed to have crashed in Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan on Saturday, a Pakistani security official said.

"The Americans informed us between 01:00 and 01:30 pm (local time) today that their one drone has crashed due to some technical fault in Angor Adda areas of South Waziristan," a Pakistani military source said on condition of anonymity.

Islamabad, Mar. 7 : The Swat peace deal between the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Government and the `good' Taliban was seen as a step towards peace and prosperity in the valley.

The nine-point peace accord struck between the NWFP government and the Tehrik Nifaz-i-Shariat Muhammadi (TNSM) was aimed at bringing the years long extremism in the region to a halt.

Later, the accord was transformed into a 17 point `understanding' between both the sides.

Islamabad  - At least seven police officers and a civilian were killed Saturday in a car bombing in north-western Pakistan, a local police official said.

"An anonymous caller informed the police that a suspect car was parked in the Badh Pir area on the outskirts of Peshawar with a dead body inside, but it was a trap," Ghulam Mohammad said. "When our officers approached the car, it blew up."

Islamabad - Businesses remained closed and thousands held protest rallies in Pakistan's largest province of Punjab on Friday against President Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of slain former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

Thousands of people thronged in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, to register protest against a court ruling that banned the top opposition leader and two-time Premier Nawaz Sharif from elected office.

Sharif says Zardari's loyal judges gave the ruling on his orders, because of a criminal conviction after his government was ousted in 1999 by the then military chief Pervez Musharraf.
