Taliban’s internal strife led to Polish engineer’s killing: ReportIslamabad, Feb. 12: A conflict between the head of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TPP), and another militant commander Qari Hussain led to the brutal killing of Polish engineer Peter Stanczak, The News reports.

According to sources, TTP chief Baitullah Mehsud wanted his associates to be released in return for the Polish engineer, but Qari Hussain put another list of prisoners, including four important Lashkar-e-Jhangvi members, which led to differences within the outlawed group.

Pakistan files case against Kasab, 13 others

Ajmal Amir KasabIslamabad, Feb. 11 : The Pakistan Government on Wednesday registered a case against Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist captured alive during the November 26, 2008 Mumbai terror attack.

Media reports said that the charges were filed against Kasab and 13 other people on the basis of a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) probe into the Mumbai attacks.

Islamabad ordered the FIA probe after India alleged that the Mumbai attacks were plotted in Pakistan.

Currently, Kasab is in the custody of Mumbai police.

Islamabad, Feb. 11 : The Pakistan Senate's Standing Committee on Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis on Tuesday criticized the Foreign Office for its `inability' to help the country's troubled nationals working abroad.

It was observed that the Foreign Office continued to remain on the defensive stand and was "unable to convince the International community of Pakistan's innocence throughout the Mumbai terror attacks and its aftermath, the Daily Times reports.

"The Foreign Office should take a leaf out of the book of foreign diplomats, who are always ready to help their citizens in all sorts of situations. It is wrong to assume that every Pakistani abroad is an illegal resident or an alien," said the committee's members.
