Though all under graduation and post graduation examinations in University of Rajasthan are just two days away, students have still not received their permission letters at their respective colleges. According to university sources, February 27 was the last date for issuing the permission letters. 

On Friday morning, when students approached the Commerce College to collect their permission letter, the officials told them that the college had not received the permission letters and students will be given their letters on March 2.

Ten more ministers inducted into Rajasthan CabinetJaipur, Feb 28 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expanded his two-and-a-half month old cabinet on Saturday.

State Governor S K Singh administered the oath of secrecy to ten ministers - two of cabinet rank and eight ministers of state at a ceremony in Raj Bhawan.

Dr. Jitendra Singh and Rajendra Pareek were sworn-in as cabinet rank ministers while Ram Lal Jat, Bharosilal Jatav, Ashok Bairwa, Mangilal Gharasia, Pramod Jain Bhaya, Babulal Nagar, Ameen Khan and Gurmeet Kunnar were inducted as ministers of state.

3 held in antique idol theft case

One of the arrested is an engineering student; 250-year-old statue recovered

The police on Friday arrested three people including an engineering student for their alleged involvement in a theft of a 250-year-old antique idol of lord Krishna from Charbhuja Temple in Muhana Police station area on January 12, said SP East Beeju George Joseph.

The stolen idol was also recovered from Muhana village, on revelation of the arrested people, he said.

Joseph said, the accused wanted to sell the antique in Rs20 crore and they had found the customers for that but they did not know that they were dealing with the police team in disguise.

RCA chief miffed over recent raids on petrol pumps

The district supply officers (DSOs) of Bhilwara and Udaipur raided two petrol pumps owned by Bhilwara district cricket association secretary M Nahar and Udaipur district cricket association secretary Mahendra Sharma on Friday.

It is learnt that both the petrol pump owners are close to Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) president Lalit Modi, who later on alleged that the government was “harassing” the voters of the state cricketing body ahead of the elections which are scheduled for March 1.

Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC), was enthroned as the new maharaja of Alwar estate on Thursday.

Former maharaja of Jaipur, Brigadier Bhawani Singh crowned him as the 8th maharaja of the Alwar estate following the death of his grandfather maharaja Tej Singh.

The coronation rituals were performed at the Darbar Hall in Alwar City Palace.

Prior to the coronation ceremony, pagri rasam and rang dastoor were also performed by Singh's father-in-law, Brijendra Singh, former maharaja of Dada Siba in Himachal Pradesh), as a tribute to Singh's grandfather, the maharaja Tej Singh, who died recently.
