Karachi, July 28 : Hindus in Pak struggle to take back templeThe Hindus in Karachi continue to struggle to take the complete control of a historical temple located on Manora Island dedicated to Hindu god Varun Rai. They want to acquire possession right to 11,000 square feet that the temple is built on, instead of the 2500 square feet that the Pakistan government recently handed over to them.

The Hindus want the whole area so that they can renovate and reconstruct the structure.

Pak security agencies on high alert after Taliban prepares hit list of 300 ‘US agents’

Karachi, July 24: Pakistan intelligence inputs have found that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Baitullah Mehsud has prepared a hit list of around 300 high-profile figures, including political leaders, perceiving them as ‘American agents’.

Source close to an intelligence agency said that it was assumed that the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Awami National Party (ANP), anti-Taliban Shia, Sunni clerics, personnel from the intelligence and law enforcement agencies, officials from the interior and provincial ministries and journalists could be targeted by the Pakistani Taliban. Their families were also believed to be at risk, added the sources.

Karachi, July 23 : Experts have opined that most Pakistani women refuse to have sex with their male partners because of the latter’s abusive advances and attitudes.

In an article titled ‘Women’s Perceptions and Experiences of Sexual Violence in Marital Relationships and Its Effect on Reproductive Health’ that appeared in Health Care for Women International, experts, Rafat Hussain and Adeel Khan of the School of Health, University of New England, came up with approximately 40 hours of taped interviews, which included eight key informant interviews, three focus groups with 24 participants, and 10 in-depth interviews.

Asif Ali Zardari’s chief security officer killed

Karachi, July 23:Asif Ali Zardari’s chief security officer killed Unidentified gunmen killed the chief security officer of PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari last evening in Karachi. After being fired at by the assailants, he was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to bullet injuries.

According to officials, the assailants fired for two-three minutes and used an SMG rifle, .222 rifle and 9mm pistols.

Karachi Hindus in panic over crematorium ashes removal deadlineKarachi, July 22: Caretaker of the Hindu Cremation Ground in Karachi, Ram Nath has reportedly warned Sindhi Hindus through a public notice to claim the 128 earthen pots of the ashes of their loved ones before July 30, else he will immerse them according to the Hindu rituals and will not be legally responsible for them after this deadline.

The notice also pointed out that the ashes of many people had been lying at the cremation ground’s library for several years and with the passage of time even the nametags had eroded.

Pak's national flag creator, a forgotten hero

PakistanKarachi, July 22: Master Afzal Hussain Foundation Trust chairperson, Qamar Sultana has reportedly demanded of the Pakistan Government to remember the death anniversary of Master Afzal Hussain at a national level.

Master Afzal Hussain, who had died on July 16, 1987, had designed the Pakistan's national flag.

Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Qamar Sultana said, "proud nations always remember their national heroes, but our government did not pay any attention to this hero, who designed the national flag."
