Pak intelligence agency fears Al-Qaeda attack during long marchKarachi, Mar. 12 : Pakistan intelligence agencies have warned about a possible Al Qaeda attack on the lawyers' long march in Sindh.

"Security agencies have been specifically warned that terrorist organisations can strike during the long march, with March 14 and 15 being sensitive days,"The Daily Times quoted a Sindh Home Department official, as saying.

According to The Daily Times, a burqa- clad man, later identified as Maulvi Munir from Multan, was arrested by police on suspicion.

Karachi, Mar. 5: Pakistani authorities have nabbed a burqa- clad man from the Cantt Railway Station here, in connection with the Lahore terror attack, but the suspect, reportedly was mentally handicapped.

According to The Daily Times, a burqa- clad man, later identified as Maulvi Munir from Multan, was arrested by police on suspicion.

After the arrest, Munir also admitted of being involved in the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore, but after further investigations Railways SSP Muzaffar Sheikh said that he (Munir) appeared to be mentally challenged.

Meanwhile, in Lahore three suspicious Nigerians were arrested by security personnel.

PCB demands ‘doubled’ package as women’s team sponsorship rights

Pakistan Cricket BoardKarachi, Mar. 1 : Suffering from huge financial crunch, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now sought to sell the sponsorship rights for World Cup-bound Pakistan women's cricket team on double the amount it is being offered currently.

According to The Nation, the PCB has asked a multinational oil marketing company to double its bid if it wants to sponsor the women's team.

The company had offered an undisclosed amount for the two year term sponsorship, but the PCB rejected the offer.

Admiral Bashir does a volte face, agrees with Pak Interior Ministry’s report

india,pak flagKarachi/Kochi, Feb. 28 : Pakistan's Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Noman Bashir, on Saturday back tracked on a statement he made on Friday, saying he agreed with the Interior Ministry's report on the Mumbai terror attack.

"We have not been directly involved in the investigation, which is under the domain of the interior ministry. Therefore, they are better equipped, they have better knowledge and information," Admiral Bashir said.
