Melbourne, Sept 4 : A primary school girl in Australia was forced to undress and sexually threatened by two men during a class sleepover, earlier this year.

The incident came into light after the teachers raised an alarm about school safety.

According to one of the teachers, two men were waiting in the toilets when the girl got up during the sleepover and threatened her to perform an act of indecency. They also took photos of her during her ordeal.

South Australia''s Acting Education Minister Jay Weatherill has ordered a review of school supervision guidelines after being alerted by The Advertiser.

Melbourne, September 4 : A 19-year-old Australian man has landed himself into trouble by burping in a police station in Tully, south of Cairns, Queensland.

A Queensland police spokesman alleged that the man burped twice in the face of an administrative assistant at the front counter of the police station, and when asked to control himself, he began "swearing, became abusive to police and aggressive in front of others including an elderly woman waiting at the counter".

Melbourne, Sept. 3 : Australia''s 12.5 billion dollar education export industry is likely to take a major hit with the country’s immigration authorities deciding to tighten laws for the recruitment of Indian students.

According to The Australian, all universities are likely to urge their foreign students, including Indian students to get their visa applications lodged and processed as per the new rules.

A spokesman of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, however, said: "Gnuine applicants had nothing to fear from the changes.”

Melbourne, Sept 2 : In a rather bizarre punishment, a teacher forced a six-year-old student to write an apology letter using the F-word.

Maguire Pinner''s parents have lodged a complaint against the teacher of The White Hills Primary School, whose move is being backed by her union.

According to reports, the Victorian branch of the Australian Education Union accused the boy''s parents of overreacting.

The teacher had put Pinner in time out and ordered him to write a letter home to his parents explaining how and why he swore in the playground.

She asked him to explicitly write the profanity "f*** you", which she later repeated in her comments to the parents.

Melbourne, Sept. 2: A Sikh student has received an apology from an exclusive private school after he was denied admission for violating strict uniform rules.

Scott McDougall, the lawyer representing the Sikh boy’s family in court, was quoted by news. com. au, as saying that Brisbane's Ormiston College had told 12-year-old that he could only attend school if he cut his hair and did not wear his turban.

Uncut hair and turbans are both strict requirements of the Sikh religion.

The boy’s family, which cannot be named for legal reasons, thereafter lodged a claim with the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland against the college and its headmaster Brett Webster.
