The Mumbai police have stepped up security outside Congress MP Gurudas Kamats residence near Diamond Garden in Chembur following reports of a possible attack by Shiv Sainiks.
Kamat had recently criticized Sena chief Bal Thackeray for defending sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and the other accused in the Malegaon blast case. He demanded that govt. should take strict action needs to be taken against both Islamic and Hindu terror outfits.
He also said that, by defending Sadhvi in public Thackrey had endorsed terror and so he also needed to be arrested.
Larsen & Toubro, India’s leading Technology, Engineering & Construction Company along with its Malaysian partner Scomi Engineering Bhd has secured an order worth Rs 2460 crore from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to implement the country’s first Monorail System in Mumbai.
The consortium bagged the said contract by beating Reliance-Hitachi Consortium’s bid.
Health officials gave oral polio vaccine (OPV) drops to 8.80 lakh children, out of approximately 13 lakh across the city who come under the BMC’s purview. These children were vaccinated through 6,800 booths in the city under polio immunisation programme on Sunday. Health officials said that the turnout was better than the previous drive in July which had reported a 65 % turnout.

The ‘Karzzz’ concert of singer, composer and actor Himesh Reshammiya will be aired by Star Plus on November 9. The concert, presented in association with T-Series, was held at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai on October 12.
