Vijay Mallya's Kingfisher Airlines leased four airplanes from GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS). The US Company filed complaint against Kingfisher before the aviation regulator of India for nonpayments.

England cricket team arrives in IndiaMumbai, Nov 6 : England cricket team arrived in Mumbai on Thursday for the seven-match one-day series against India.

England will be playing their first one-day match in Rajkot on November 14 and is also scheduled to play two tests in Ahmedabad and Mumbai in December.

Indian selectors named a 15-man squad for the matches at Rajkot, Indore (November 17) and Kanpur (November 20) with Murali Vijay the only new face whereas ace batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been rested for the first three matches.

SBI loans to be cheaper

State Bank of IndiaMumbai, Nov 6 : State Bank of India loans will now be cheaper with the bank deciding to cut its Prime Lending Rate (PLR) by 0.75 per cent from Monday.

SBI Chairman O P Bhatt told reporters in Mumbai on Thursday that the bank''s PLR will now stand reduced to 13 per cent from 13.75 per cent.

Several public sector banks such as Punjab National Bank, Union Bank, UCO Bank and Syndicate Bank have already effected a cut in their PLRs.

On Tuesday, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram met heads of public sector banks following which bankers had promised to cut their lending rates by up to 0.75 per cent.

An acclaimed Bollywood personality, and a winner of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Chopra had made many blockbuster films like 'Naya Daur', 'Gumrah', 'Humraaz', 'Dhundh', 'Insaaf ka Tarazoo' and 'Nikah'.

ATS arrests Lt Col in connection with Malegaon blasts

Malegaon-blastsAccording to a Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) official, Lieutenant Colonel Srikant Purohit has been in connection with the September 29 Malegaon blasts, under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Activities (MCOCA). This is the first time a military officer has been arrested under an anti-terror law.

ATS Additional Commissioner of Police, Parambir Singh said that Purohit was interrogated two days back at the Maharashtra and Gujarat Area (M&G) headquarters, and was arrested on Wednesday. Singh, however, refused to reveal Purohit's role in the blasts.
