A local Shiv Sena leader was shot dead at Airoli in Navi Mumbai by unidentified assailants on Sunday.

He was identified as identified as deputy shakhapramukh, Nitin Prabhu.

While Prabhu along with one of his friends were returning from a hotel, two motorcycle-borne gunmen fired at him at about 12.30 in the night.

Prabhu was rushed to the near by hospital, where he was declared dead. His friend sustained minor injuries.

He was running Sai Siddhi Estate Agency in Airoli and having disturbances with Sanjay Jadhav, owner of SM Enterprises at the same. Even before few days ago Sanjay had threatened to finish Prabhu.

Police has registered a case in this regard.

Mumbai, Nov 4 : The police have arrested three more suspects related to Malegaon blast which claimed six lives, officials said on Monday.

Ajay Eknath Rahirkar, Jagdish Chintamani Mhatre and Rakesh Dattaram Dhawade were arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Sunday.

Earlier the ATS had arrested five people including god woman Pragya Singh and two retired army officials for their suspected involvement in the September 29 Malegaon blast in Maharashtra.

They were produced before a local court in Nasik on Monday.

"The three were produced in the Nasik court today and they have been granted police custody till November 10," Hemant Karkare, ATS chief, told reporters in Mumbai.

Mumbai, Nov 3: The Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex on Monday regained 10,000-points mark and surged by 544 points in early trade on heavy buying by funds as well as retailers.

The regain of 10,000-points mark was sparked by Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) announcement of fresh set of measures to infuse more liquidity into the financial system.

The 30-share Sensex, which gained almost 1,200 points in the past three sessions, shot up by another 544 points at 10,332.06 on renewed buying in the stocks of banking, capital goods, metals and oil and gas sectors.

Mumbai, Nov 1 : The three accused in the September 29 Malegaon blasts - Pragya Singh Thakur (a god woman), former Army official Ramesh Upadhyay and Sameer Kulkarni - on Saturday underwent polygraph tests at a Forensic Science Laboratory in Mumbai.

Some of the accused had the tests performed on them on Friday, according to reports.

However, narco-analysis was still to be performed on them.

Five persons, including the god woman, have been arrested for planting a motorcycle bomb in Maharashtra’s Malegaon town, which claimed six lives.
