Mumbai, Oct 27 : An unidentified gunman, allegedly trying to take passengers hostage in a state transport bus in Mumbai’s suburban Kurla was killed today by police in a shoot-out.

The incident occurred around 9.30 a. m. inside a BEST bus (Bombay Electric Supply and Transport) in the suburb, according to reports.

Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Rakesh Maria, said, "The man fired at the police in ''Bail'' bazar area of Kurla and was shot in retaliatory fire."

Maria further said that police suspected the gunman was trying to take the bus passengers hostage and the fact was being verified.

Mumbai, Oct 27: Mohammed Mansoor Peerbhoy, who was arrested by Mumbai police Crime Branch for his alleged involvement in the Indian Mujhaideen plot, especially the Terror emails, has filed an application before the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court seeking to turn approver in the case.

According to the police Peerbhoy, who worked with a multinational software company in Pune and was earning an annual salary of Rs
19 lakh, was responsible for hacking unsecured Wi-Fi networks in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai and sending emails to news channels minutes before the July 26 Ahmedabad blasts and the September 13 Delhi explosions.

Mumbai, Oct 27: Indian stock markets crashed on Monday, with the benchmark Sensex plunging below the psychological 8,000 level in afternoon trading.

Tracking weak global trend, the benchmark Sensex lost over 750 points to hit an over three-year low of 7,939 in afternoon trade on fresh selling by funds.

At 12:52 p. m., the 30-share index, which fell by nearly 2,000 points in the past three sessions, slid by another 762.05 points or 8.76 percent at 7,939.02, a level last seen on November 2, 2005.

New Delhi - More than 150 people were arrested and a dozen injured as groups clashed with the police and attacked railway stations across India's eastern state of Bihar on Saturday to protest attacks on migrants in the financial capital of Mumbai, news reports said.

Mobs of students vandalized railway stations and blocked rail and road traffic as part of a shutdown called to protest attacks by the right-wing Maharashtra Navnirman Sena party (MNS).

"Over 150 students were arrested across the state and some student leaders were also taken into custody early on Saturday. In state capital Patna alone, 25 students were arrested," a police official told the IANS news agency.

PBA Infrastructure Ltd (PBA) has informed that company’s Joint Venture christened "PBA-CONSITE" has received two orders worth Rs 44.99 crore from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

Further PBA Infra stated that it has 60% share in these two awarded contract. 

The JV has secured first contract worth Rs 15.81 crore for construction of skywalk at Ulhasnagar (East), in which PBA Infra has 60% share, valued at Rs 9.49 crore. 

While, the second contract worth Rs 29.17 crore has bagged for construction of Skywalk at Ulhasnagar (West). PBA Infra 60% share valued at Rs 17.50 crore.
