Five arrested for lynching of a "North Indian" in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Oct 30 : Five persons were arrested in connection with the murder of a migrant youth, belonging to Uttar Pradesh''s Gorakhpur district, by miscreants on a local train in Maharashtra on Tuesday.

Government Railway Police (GRP) commissioner A K Sharma said, "We questioned many people yesterday and based on information and eyewitness accounts, five persons have been arrested today."

They are likely to be produced in a court later today.

On Wednesday, the GRP, which takes orders from the railway ministry, detained 20 people.

Uproar in Bihar over killing of Mumbai’s gunman

Maharashtra, DhulePatna/Mumbai/New Delhi, Oct 27 : People in Bihar are agitated over the killing of a gunman who tried to take hostage the passengers of a public bus in Mumbai’s Kurla area on Monday saying that the police should have apprehended the alleged hijacker alive.

This morning, Mumbai Police shot dead Rahul Raj, a 26-year-old native of Patna, inside a BEST bus (Bombay Electric Supply and Transport) in the suburb.

Police said that Rahul died in exchange of fire with police after attempts to persuade him to surrender failed.
