During his meeting with the Communist Party of Nepal (Unity Centre) General Secretary Narayan Kaji Shrestha ''Prakash'' at Baluwatar on Saturday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda said "technical problems" that hampered the cabinet formation had been resolved and that a full-fledged cabinet would be in place on Sunday, Nepalnews. com reported.

Prachanda also expressed confidence that minor allies like Janamorcha Nepal and CPN (Marxist Leninist) would join the new government on Sunday itself.

EU provides humanitarian aid to India, Nepal flood victims

UN calls for observance of truce during Beijing OlympicsBrussels - The European Commission said Friday it was providing more than 2 million euros (3 million dollars) in humanitarian aid to help the victims of floods in northern India and Nepal.

A statement from the European Union's executive body said the aid was to be channeled through UN relief agencies, European non- governmental organizations and the Red Cross/Crescent movement.

The commission said the most pressing need was to provide food, clean drinking water, shelter and medicines to the victims.

New Delhi/Patna, Aug 29 : With incessant rains lashing catchment areas of the Kosi River, leading to dramatic rise in water levels has prompted the United Nations to rush its agencies to aid the government and independent bodies working to provide relief to flood victims both in India and Nepal.

A UN Children''s Fund (UNICEF) official, Patrick McCormick, said the world body has joined in the rescue and rehabilitation efforts in Bihar and Nepal.

About 1, 25, 000 marooned people have been evacuated so far in 11 districts of Bihar, the bulk of them by government boats and many on their own. Four helicopters and 200 country boats are working overtime to ferry the men and material to safe destinations.

The clashes erupted in the Bara district, about 90 kilometres south of Kathmandu, when police moved in to break up demonstrators who were forcibly shutting down factories and markets, the independent Radio Kantipur said.

Nepal's Foreign Affairs Upendra YadavNew Delhi, Aug 29: Nepal's Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav has said that India has offered to help his country in tackling floods.

Yadav, the chief of the debutant Terai party, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, discussed issues of mutual importance to both countries with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday and was happy to receive help from India.

"We talked about solving the problem of floods and related problems faced by Nepal. Pranab Mukherjee said the Indian Government will help us in that," Yadav said.
