Baghdad - Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zibari on Friday said there was a possibility for Iraqi-Syrian relations to get back to normal.

The two countries could overcome the crisis that was sparked off after a United States military raid on a Syrian village last month, he said.

Beirut  - Lebanese military court investigator Judge Rachid Mezher issued on Friday eight arrest warrants for suspects involved in an explosion that killed five people in the Lebanese city of Tripoli in September.

The explosion on September 29 targeted a military bus carrying at least 20 soldiers, leaving at least five dead and 21 injured.

The explosion was part of a chain of sporadic bombings, mainly targeting the army.

Beirut - A Syrian state television broadcast showing people tied to Lebanese organizations confessing to a September Damascus bomb attack is an attempt to smear Lebanese institutions, Lebanese politicians said Friday.

Damascus  - Syria hopes that the new US president would change the US foreign policy, said Syrian Minister of Information said on Wednesday.

"We hope that the US drop its policies of wars and boycott and would adopt diplomacy and dialogue," reported the Syrian news agency SANA quoting Hohsen Belal.

Belal added that he would wish for more peace in the Middle East.

The US has raided a Syrian village a couple of weeks ago killing eight civilians, according to Syria. The event has escalated tensions between the two countries.
