London, Nov 27 : The rise and fall journey of flawed football genius George Best is poised to be made into a TV film for BBC2.

Upcoming actor Tom Payne will play the role of the late Manchester United and Northern Ireland star.

The shooting for the film began recently in Belfast.

The film would mainly chronicle the George’s life in the 60s and 70s, focussing on his losing battles with alcoholism and his once-teetotal mum Anne.

"It is going to be very powerful and emotional but may be difficult to watch for some fans,” The Mirror quoted a source as saying.

London, Nov 27 : Late Chief Constable Mike Todd is said to have had relationships with 38 women while he was head of Greater Manchester Police, according to an official report.

The tangled love life of the head of Greater Manchester police is being investigated to see if it affected his ability to do his job or put national security at risk.

Investigators have uncovered liaisons with 38 women during his six years as head of the force, including officers and civilian workers, as well as women outside the police service.

The unnamed friend said that Ramsay, 42, was unbelievably stupid to have conducted an affair with Sarah Symonds, 38, especially after she revealed they had a seven-year affair.

London  - Administrators called in by collapsed retail group Woolworths in Britain said Thursday that efforts were under way to find a buyer for the giant High Street chain.

Accountancy firm Deloitte said it had received expressions of interest from "a number of parties" for both the retail arm and the firm's wholesale operation.

The board of Woolworths, which employs up to 30,000 staff in 815 outlets across Britain, confirmed late Wednesday that the group had filed for administration.
