RIL appoints Fluor Corporation for Jamnagar unit servicesIndia's Reliance Industries Ltd has selected Fluor Corporation to provide project management services for the company's refining and petrochemical complex in Jamnagar, the company said in a statement.

RIL also said that the services will be provided to petroleum coke gasification units, refinery off-gas cracker, downstream petrochemical plants, and captive power plant. Under the deal, Texas-based Fluor Corporation will also offer procurement services for the pet coke gasification project.

The pet coke gasification project of the company is set to produce fuel and hydrogen for the expanded refinery and petrochemical complexes. The unit will also be used to power the captive power plant in the refinery.

In another development, the shares of RIL fell 1 per cent in the morning trade after Oil Ministry announced its decision to increase the amount of penalty on the company and its British partner BP for falling natural gas output from KG-D6 fields to $ 1.46 billion.

After opening lower, the shares lost 1.46 per cent to Rs 728 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). On the other hand, the shares were down 1.36 per cent at Rs 728.80 on the national Stock Exchange (NSE).
