Samsung Launches New Line Of Point-And-Shoot CamerasSamsung has launched its new range of four Point-and-shoot cameras, which include interesting features like, high-definition output to HDTVs, HD video capture, large touch screens, and even music and video playback via iPod.

The line-up includes the TL34HD, TL9, SL310W and SL201. Among these, the TL34HD is being considered as the most advanced point-and-shoot digital camera in Samsung's history.

The TL34HD includes 14.7 megapixel camera, a 3-inch touchscreen LCD, a Schneider lens with 28mm wide-angle focus length and 3.6x optical zoom. The most attractive feature in the TL34HD, is its ability to capture HD video in 720p resolution, and port this content over to HDTV sets using the optional HDMI CEC cradle ($79.99), The cradle has its own remote and is compatible with HDTVs via HDMI connection. It's priced at $329.95 and is expected to ship in September 2008.

The next one, Samsung TL9 is 10 megapixel camera, with 2.7 inch LCD, internal 5x optical zoom, dual image stabilization and dual analogue gauges located next to the power button which displays the remaining battery life and memory capacity. It's a multimedia savvy camera which can be flipped over to PMP mode, to be used as a portable music and video player. TL9 will also be available in September for $279.95.

Next in the list is a slim-style model, the SL310W, equipped with a powerful 13.6 megapixel lens and "Dual Image Stabilization," to reduce the blur caused by shaky hands. Its lens has a 28mm wide angle focus with 3.6x zoom and 2.7 inch LCD. Other features include 11 scene mode, auto red eye fix, MPEG-4 video recording, Self Portrait, Face Detection, Blink Detection, and Smile Shot Technology. It's a bit cheaper than the other models at $229.95.

There's also a low-end camera for $169.95, the SL201, that features 10.2 megapixel lens, with 11 scene mode, face detection, and 2.7 inch LCD screen. The most vital feature is the rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which is often not present in such low priced camera.

Technology Update:
