Sensex Declines 105.97 Pts; Nifty At 5,154.90Indian stock markets continued to decline for the third consecutive day on Friday.

At 11:05 a. m., the 30-share index Sensex declined 105.97 points (0.62%) to rule at 17,045.22 with 21 components in the red.

In the meantime, the broad-based Nifty shed 33.50 points (0.65%) to trade at 5,154.90 with 38 components declining.

The BSE Sensex belled the day after dropping 84.35 points at 17,066.84, whereas Nifty began with a decline of 21.75 points at 5,166.65.

The top gainers in the 30-share index comprised Cipla, which gained 2.96%, Wipro surged 0.99%, Sun Pharma climbed 0.94%, Tata Power added 0.60%, HUL zoomed 0.55%, and ONGC remained up by 0.55%.

In contrast, the major losers in the list were BHEL that shed 3.20%, DLF declined 2.91%, Hero Honda lost 2.86%, Tata Steel dropped 2.74%, Bajaj Auto dangled 2.74%, and State Bank Of India was down by 2.06%.

The BSE Mid and small caps dropped -1.10% and -0.68% respectively.

Among the sectoral indices, the Realty index lost 28.62 points; the Capital Goods index declined 156.37 points; the Bankex index dropped 184.02 points while the HC index remained up by 77.92 points.

The overall market breadth of the stock market was negative with 800 progressions as compared to 1,538 declines.
