Sonia Gandhi urges Congress workers to tighten their belts, work hard

Sonia GandhiKochi, Dec. 16 : Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday urged all party workers to tighten their belts and work hard to get victory in next year''s general elections.

Addressing the inaugural function of the KPCC state conference here, where thousands of local and state Congress party workers were attending, Gandhi said that the people now want a change, they are fed up of governance. She urge Congress party workers to put all they can to win in the Lok Sabha elections.

"The people should gear and prepare for the election and if we give our all for the party no body can stop us. We must remember that the success of our party the best success lies in the success in each and every one of our individual," Gandhi said.

After a big election success and winning three states of Rajasthan, Delhi and Mizoram, the Congress has now turned its focus on Kerala ahead of the coming Lok Sabha polls.

Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs and Parliamentary affairs Vayalar Ravi, Opposition Leader Oommen Chandy, senior congress party leader K. Karunakaran and a host of Congress leaders were present on the occasion.

From Kochi she left to Lakshdweep to address a Lakshdweep Terrestrial special convention at Kavarati and will be returning to Delhi from Kochi.(ANI)
