South Australia’s attorney finds gamers dangerous than Bikers

South Australia's Attorney-General Michael Atkinson has received a threat note from a gamer after he banned games that were rated too violent and dangerous on the minds of youngsters, as they induce a violent streak in them. He felt that these gamers are more dangerous than the outlawed motorcycle gangs who also hate him as he earlier introduced anti-motorcycle gang laws in South Australia.

According to the laws, the police can apply to declare a gang as a criminal organization and ban members from associating. His family was also terrorized by this threat note, he was heard quoting.

Also, in another incident, he mentioned a gamer hanging around his place at 2:00 am. He thus considered gamers more threatening than the bike gangs. Australia is the sole western democracy that doesn't have an adults-only rating for games. Adults-only, or R18+, computer games are currently banned in Australia. However, films are allowed if they have the same rating in terms of violence, strong language, nudity, drug use and adult themes.

Adult material under Current laws could not be prevented from finding its way into the country as the games with R rating overseas were often marketed in Australian markets under the lower rating of MA.
