Steve Easterbrook to announce First Detailed Blueprint to Revive McDonald’s
On Monday, McDonald's Chief Executive Steve Easterbrook will publicize the first blueprint of his strategies with regard to how to revamp the fast-food giant.
He will be detailing the plans just two months after Steve started handling the world's most popular burger chain. Currently, McDonald's is facing a lot of competition from many other fast-food chains. Along with this factor, the fast- food giant has confessed being unable to match the pace with changing food tastes of current consumers.
Executives stated that their menu became complex and started giving problems to them. For continuous two years, a decline came in consumer visits. Since then, McDonald's was taking steps to get back on the track.
In December 2014, the company announced of making changes in its menu in order to simplify operations. But those changes were not significant enough and were restricted just minor sandwich variations and introduction of a grilled chicken recipe.
The company said that it gradually stop the use of antibiotics. In April, it also stated that it would double its planned restaurant closures to around 700. For now, McDonald's has not unveiled about its updated plans on overall restaurant count growth.
Easterbrook stated that he wants to turn the company as a modern, progressive burger company. Investors seem optimistic about Mr. Easterbrook's recent sense of urgency. "Sometimes new CEO's are catalysts for meaningful positive change, and we have certainly seen an attitude from Easterbrook that matches that", said experts.
Miller Tabak analyst Stephen Anderson said that McDonald's has faced tough time earlier as well. As far as the current strategies are concerned, it seems that they are well in their places.
