Several retails stores are aiming to increase revenues by attracting the last minutes shoppers on the Christmas day allowing them to purchase gifts for friends and family.
Last minute shoppers often look for stores to purchase gifts for people they have missed out in their gift lists but are mostly disappointed because stores remain closed for the holiday. However, slowing economic growth and lower business prospects have changed that this year and increasing stores are planning to remain open on the day to attract customers and increase sales.
Target, Walmart and other major retailers are planning to remain open for few hours on Christmas Eve to allow last minute shoppers to pick up gifts. Store times have been decided as per store locations to offer convenience to the shoppers.
Experts say that the customers are shopping for gift on 24th December and are mostly buying toys but also clothing and electronics. These last-minute shoppers will spend an average of $304 in the final days leading up to the holiday, according to estimates by Visa.
