Tata Comm. plans entry into 20 countries

As a part of its growth strategy, Tata Communications is drawing plans to enter 20 top emerging markets.

 

A part of Tata group, the company gets around two-third of its revenues from overseas businesses. It has invested around USD 1 billion for acquiring companies and setting up of new submarine cable.

 

The company is targeting regions like Latin America, Africa and South East Asia and Central and Eastern Europe, where it will set up infrastructure that will support various telecom enterprise solutions, including tele-presence, manage dat services, messaging etc.

 

Shares of the company gained Rs 9.15, or 2.38%, to end at Rs 394.00. The total volume of shares traded was 52,419 at the BSE (Friday).
