This illness can affect one or both eyes. It is more common in girls. The researchers have found a connection between this disease and a gene in nervous system. Researchers feel that treatment for ‘Lazy eye’ can evolved based on the new discovery.
 

Swedish Study Says That Stress Can Make Men Diabetics

It is a well known fact that the Psychological stress and tensions make way for various diseases. The research by the experts from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm showed that anxiety can increase the risk of diabetes in men. The researchers found that a range of symptoms like anxiety, sleeping disorders which are basically connected to psychological distress can double a man's risk of developing diabetes.

The team of researchers lead by Professor Anders Ekbom analyzed the data collected from 2,127 middle-aged men in Sweden for eight to 10 years. The researchers also studied data collected from 3,100 women. These people were asked questions related to distress, including anxiety, apathy, depression, fatigue and insomnia in the beginning of the study.

Study: Mothers Can Flavor Their Milk

Mother's milk is the only food consumed by new born babies. The new research has shown that mother milk retains the flavor of the food eaten by them before feeding the child.

The study done by the University of Copenhagen included 18 lactating mothers. This research was lead by Dr Helene Hausner, of Copenhagen University. The researchers gave these nursing mums capsules containing a variety of flavors, including banana, liquorice, caraway seed and menthol. Sample of milk before and after eating these capsules was tested.

Researchers Find Weak Spot In The HIV Armour

The recent research led by an Indian-origin researcher has offered a ray of hope in the dark cloud of HIV. Sudhir Paul claims that his team has found that this weak spot known as amino acids numbered 421-433 on gp120, is hidden in the HIV envelope protein gp120. This protein is essential for HIV attachment to host cells, which initiate infection and eventually lead to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome or AIDS.
