Washington, Apr 3: US journalists seeking to talk a little on foreign policy with high-profile Obama Administration officials got a shock when they dialled a toll-free number to join a conference call with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security Advisor James Jones in London.

The White House accidentally listed a sex line number for journalists seeking an on the record briefing call with Clinton and Jones.

The number turned out to be a sex chat line inviting callers to use their credit card numbers. “Do you have any hidden desires?” a sultry-voiced woman asked.

Washington, April 3 : In what may eventually hold great significance for patients who have suffered myocardial damage as a result of a heart attack, a study has shown that cells in a human heart can develop into adulthood and their age is, on average, six years younger than the individual.

Scientists from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the Karolinska Institute, Universite Claude Bernard Lyon, Lund University, and Lund University Hospital made these findings by using the amount of carbon 14 in the atmosphere from above-ground nuclear testing in the 1950s and 1960.

Washington, April 3 : Researchers at Cornell University, US, using a computer, have developed an algorithm which can derive natural laws from observed data, just like scientists.

What the researchers have done is to teach a computer to find regularities in the natural world that become established laws - yet without any prior scientific knowledge on the part of the computer.

Washinton, Apr. 3: The Unites States is certainly worried by the increasing influence of Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) on the government, with a top Pentagon official saying that Washington is keeping a close watch on the issue and is trying to reduce the cooperation between the ISI and the Pak Army.

London, Apr. 3: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and US President Barack Obama have agreed to fight terrorism together.

Both leaders discussed developments in Pakistan and Afghanistan and emphasised on strengthening strategic bilateral ties.

“Well, we did discuss the development in Afghanistan and Pakistan. We both agreed that our two countries must work together to counter the forces of terror,” Dr. Singh told reporters on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in London.

He also expressed satisfaction over his meeting with Obama.

Washington  - Asylum seekers in the United States normally come from places like Iran, Myanmar or Africa. But Uwe Romeike is an unusual case.

The 37-year-old's home is in an idyllic German village of 3,000 outside Stuttgart, more known for its peaceful surroundings than political persecution.

"I feel politically persecuted," he said in an interview in German from his new home in Tennessee, where he fled to several months ago with his wife and five children, aged 3 to 11.
