Washington, Apr 5 : A researcher from Missouri University has devised a method of detecting cancer with the help of urine samples.

Dr. Yinfa Ma has developed a method for pre-cancer screening and hopes to be able to predict types of cancer as well as severity.

"Cancer is the second-highest cause of death among all diseases," said Ma, a Curators' Teaching Professor of chemistry at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

"Early diagnosis of cancer is crucial, but not many people want to go to the hospital to undergo costly, invasive cancer screening," he added.

Wellington, April 5 : People have started to show more faith in soothsayers and faith healers than God, say researchers at New Zealand-based Massey University.

The researchers came to this conclusion after conducting a poll of 1027 people, which reflected an 11 per cent rise in the number of people having no religious affiliation as compared to a decade ago.

They said that only 27 per cent of the people polled reported strongly believing in the existence of God, while 39 per cent in fortune-tellers and faith healers.

Authorities in the upstate New York city of 45,000 officially identified the gunman Saturday as Jiverly A Wong, and said he had once taken classes at the American Civic Association Building, where he killed 13 people before taking his own life.
