Exiled Chinese dissidents to demand apology for Tiananmen killings

Taiwan, ChinaTaipei- Exiled Chinese dissidents will launch a series of campaigns to demand China to apologize for the 1989 massacre of protestors on Beijing's Tiananmen Square, a Taiwan-based Chinese dissident said Thursday.

The call comes in the run up to the 20th anniversary of the communist government's bloody crackdown on student protestors on June 4, 1989 - whose full death toll has never been established.

US-led coalition claims two Taliban killed in southern Afghanistan

AfghanistanKabul- US-led coalition forces killed two suspected Taliban militants in an operation in southern Afghanistan while three other suspects were detained in central Afghanistan, the US military said Thursday.

Using information provided by intelligence sources, a combined force of Afghan and coalition troops conducted an operation in the Tarin Kot district of Uruzgan province Wednesday and killed two suspected militants, the US military said in a statement.

The joint forces also seized pistols, one AK-47 assault rifle and ammunition during the operation, it said.

Washington, Apr 23 : A glass of 100 percent juice every morning can lower the risk of obesity and metabolic syndrome - a cluster of conditions that increases risk for stroke, heart disease and diabetes, concludes a new study.

New research presented at the Experimental Biology (EB) 2009 meeting highlights the association among adult men and women, with evidence showing that 100 percent juice drinkers were leaner, had better insulin sensitivity and had lower risk for obesity and metabolic syndrome.
