"It was a stupid joke because it rhymes. In the hands of a responsible journalist, humor and sarcasm will be translated appropriately," the New York Daily News quoted Miller as saying.

Strong business plans lure investors to start-ups

Washington, Apr 9 : A strong business plan and a strong management team is what lures an investor towards a start-up company, say researchers.

Lead researchers Steven N. Kaplan, Berk A. Sensoy, and Per Stromberg looked at 50 start-ups that went public in an initial public offering for which there was a very early business plan.

The second sample included all start-ups that went public in 2004.

The researchers say that strong management no doubt is important, but ultimately a strong business idea matters most to investors.

The team found that a bad management team does not necessarily kill a good idea, but a good management rarely overcomes a bad idea.

Screening of porn flick by students threatens college funding

Washington, Apr 9 : A porn flick has been receiving stiff resistance from critics, who have said that universities should not be paying for the screening of such smut.

But the film''s supporters have fought back saying that it does not fit the legal definition of obscenity, and that schools have a First Amendment right to show it.

The movie ''Pirates II: Stagnetti''s Revenge'' produced by Digital Playground has been airing on campuses is unrated, although Digital Playground has produced an R-rated version.

Colleges that have screened the film are the University of California-Davis, UCLA, Carnegie-Mellon, the University of Maryland and Northwestern University.
