Washington, Apr 23 : Researchers from the Kimmel Cancer Centre at Jefferson have found that vitamin K when combined with sorafenib can help curb pancreatic and primary liver cancers.
According to Dr Brian Carr, professor of Medical Oncology at the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, vitamin K1 or vitamin K2, combined with sorafenib (Nexavar) each have shown activity against the growth of human cancer cells by inhibiting the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway.

Dubbed extended Lyman-Alpha blobs, such objects are huge bodies of gas that may be precursors to galaxies.
This blob was named Himiko for a legendary, mysterious Japanese queen, as it was discovered early in the history of the universe in a Japanese Subaru field.
Washington, Apr. 23 : US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has accused the Government of Pakistan of "abdicating" to the Taliban and other extremist groups by ceding large tracts of territory.
She said that the country's instability is a "mortal threat" to world peace.
"I think that the Pakistani government is basically abdicating to the Taliban and to the extremists," the New York Times quoted Clinton as telling the House Foreign Affairs Committee as she responded to questions on an array of topics.
