According to reports, the entertainer has splashed a whopping 200,000 dollars on baby furniture at a children''s store in San Francisco for the new Hollywood home she intends to buy with her hubby.

Mariah is said to have set her sights on the David Saperstein estate in the exclusive western L. A. neighborhood of Holmby Hills, worth a whopping 125 million dollars.

lung functionWashington, Mar 26 : Researchers at University of Southern California have found that a tiny variation within a single gene can determine not only how quickly and well lungs grow and function in children and adolescents, but how susceptible those children will be to exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke, even in utero.

"Many factors can affect lung function and growth, including genetic variation and environmental exposures such as tobacco smoke and air pollutants," said Carrie Breton, Sc. D., lead author of the study conducted at the University of Southern California.

Report: IBM to lay off 5,000 in US, outsourcing to India New York  - US computer firm IBM plans to lay off 5,000 workers in its service area in the United States, and outsource the majority of them to India, the US business daily Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing an insider.

At year's end IBM employed around 400,000 people worldwide, with the Wall Street Journal reporting that the company had laid off around 4,600 workers in areas of software, sales and semiconductors at the start of the 2009.
