Pachuca rally to Al Ahly for a place in Club World Cup semis

Pachuca LogoTokyo - Mexican club Pachuca rallied from 2-0 down to beat Al Ahly of Egypt 4-2 in extra time on Saturday for a place in the Club World Cup semi-finals.

There they meet South American champions Liga de Quito of Ecuador on Wednesday.

Pachuca fell behind in the 28th minute from an own goal by Fausto Pinto and were down 2-0 on the stroke of halftime when Flavio fired high into the net on the counter in Tokyo's Olympic stadium.

But Pachuca's dominance throughout the match then showed, and they levelled matters from curling free-kicks by second-half substitute Luis Montes in the 47th and Christian Gimenez in the 73rd.

Paul Pierce scored 18 of his 28 points in the second half, and Kevin Garnett had 19 along with 10 rebounds, as the surging Celtics rolled to their season-high 14th consecutive victory, 94-82, over the visiting New Orleans Hornets on Friday night.

"Tonight was one of those games I was really happy with because we really struggled," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "We didn't have it. Nothing went well, but our effort was good and we grinded it out."

Morkel, who has modelled his game on McGrath, possesses the same confidence about his abilities as his Australian idol.

Stamp victim asks UEFA to not ban RooneyLondon, Dec 13: Aalborg’s Kasper Risgard, who has been allegedly stamped by Wayne Rooney, has pleaded with UEFA not to ban the Manchester United strike.

The Aalborg midfield ace left Old Trafford with stud marks on his chest after his clash with Rooney in Wednesday night’s Champions League tie, The Sun reported.

Rooney is clearly seen stamping on the Dane as he lay on the floor. UEFA will study film of the incident on Monday before deciding on what action to take.
